The Levi’s® Vintage Clothing Spring/Summer 2021 collection channels the aesthetic and energy of the generation that birthed modern rave culture: the 1980s Manchester acid house scene. With vintage graphics, looser fits and the bold colors that defined the bygone era, this collection transports you back to the '80s and onto the dance floor of the Haçienda, the iconic nightclub that served as epicenter of the Manchester music scene.

This archival reproduction of pair of 501® Jeans from 1984 embodies the sweeping technological advances of the '80s. While smaller-batch, slightly more irregular selvedge denim used to be our standard, new technology let us produce wider, less flawed fabric rolls — known as "wide goods." So we began to use this wide goods, Shrink-to-Fit™ denim in our 501® Original Jeans.

This pair of 1984 501® Jeans features panel inserts along the side for a looser silhouette, evoking the ultra-relaxed fits worn by the Manchester acid house scene. Colorful paint drip embroidery on the back right pocket makes this jean a one-of-a-kind statement piece.
