In my tender 20s I had an incredible black and white dress with a loosely similar pattern, with a Peter Pan collar, dropped waist, having just one tier that hit right above my knee. That dress was a perfect throw-on-and-go dress, that was fun but looked polished and dressy and a little soft and feminine. I stupidly donated that dress back when I changed jobs and didn't have to dress up for work. For many years since I have regretted the wound to my wardrobe from tossing it. I am mid-50s now and have long since dreamed of finding another dress similar to that one. This tan and black Levi's Darla dress caught my eye. My heart just zinged when I opened the package. THIS IS IT! It is that exact kind of a dress, but a little upgraded with the tan and black checks and midi-length. The added tiers give it a little longer skirt to swish around my legs. Better yet, this dress has POCKETS! I can't wait to wear it with my tall black leather boots, as shown on the model. I'm 5'8" 188lbs and wear a size 16. I am a breast cancer survivor and after a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction in 2024 I have a lot of body dysmorphia and find myself liking my clothes to fit looser and avoid clingy fabric, so I bought a size XXL. The XL would have also fit me, but based on measurements an XL would have been more fitted in the chest than I want. It also looks great if I slightly shape it to my body by wearing a tailored black vest over it--which was how I often wore that black and white (original) favorite. This is my new favorite dress!

This dress is darling, flattering and versatile. It looks cute with a belt. It is cute with a vest or sweater. It looks great with boots, flats and heels. It can be worn year round as well.

I was hoping this dress would hit mid calf , but I was tripping over the hem. Great dress for a tall person. Good sleeves

Great material and very comfortable fit. Personally the sleeves are just a bit too puffy.

Charming dress, and I'm keeping it ~ but only because I'm going to attempt to make the sleeves a lot less puffy. (I'm too old for those puffs). Otherwise I like the fabric pattern and the dress as a whole.

I'm just over 5"4, slender, and the small was way to large and long. The shouder have this puffy quality that is not apparent i the photos.

I love the dress, but the sleeves are very puffing at the top -- too much for me. I'm looking into the possibility of alterations and go from there. If not, then I'll have to return the dress
