About this Style
On May 20th, 1873, Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis secured a patent (No. 139,121) for “an Improvement in Fastening Pocket Openings.” The West Coast at that time was a loose patchwork of farms, ranches, railroads and gold mines. Jacob Davis—a tailor from Reno, Nevada—had the idea of placing rivets on work pants at points of strain, and joined forces with his denim supplier Levi Strauss in San Francisco. The riveted blue jean was born. Soon, Levi’s® became the clothing of choice for the rugged, hodgepodge band of workers, outcasts, entrepreneurs and outlaws building America’s future. For Spring/Summer 2023, in celebration of the 150th year anniversary of this patent, we pay tribute to their innovation and collaboration.
In 1934, we introduced the first five-pocket jean especially built for women: the 701®. Made famous by the premiere American fashion magazine of its time, the 701® had a distinctly high-waisted, more curved fit. Today, we reproduced this glossy magazine-approved fit for our 1950s Women's 701® Jeans stitch-for-stitch using premium selvedge denim.

Sluit perfect aan in de taille.
Alleen jammer dat er geen lengte maat 32 van deze jeans is!
Bij een kleinere maat is de broek heel erg lang.

Nice cut but fit big

Nice pair of vintage style jeans that fit me well and are really flattering for women's curves. Sadly I'm having to exchange them for a size smaller as they fit quite big. The length is perfect if you like turn-ups. To call the fabric rigid is wrong though, as they're not rigid at all, which seeing as they're pre-shrunk is not ssurprising.Overall, I'm very happy with them.

Based on the reviews and availability, I bought a smaller size. It's a bit snug in the waist, so they'll need to be altered. The fit is otherwise perfect. I love the style!

La talla es más grande de lo esperado y la largura 34.
Los compré porque me gustó que la largura quedase por encima del tobillo, mi sorpresa fue que son 34 de largura.
Para el precio que tienen una no espera tener que llevarlos a acortar.

Ce jean est magnifique, j'adore la coupe vintage et la taille haute. Aucuns défauts de couture ou autres et la taille est excellente.
Seul problème : la longueur des jambes est énorme. Le modèle sur la photo semble avoir des revers de 5/6cm, je dois en faire de 10/12 au mien afin de pouvoir le mettre (et pourtant je suis assez grande 170cm).
Sinon, rien à redire. La qualité de ce jean est top.

Very cute but TINY

Very cute and I was so excited, but they run unbelievably small. I ordered a size up from my usual so they would have a relaxed look and I couldn’t get them over my thighs! Reordered 3 sizes up from my usual so hopefully those will work!

I was super excited for this pair but unfortunately it just wasn't for me. The length wasn't too much of an issue, but I expected the fabric to be a bit softer, and this particular pair is definitely designed for figures without too much of a waist to hip ratio.

Not what I expected.

Rather frumpy fit. I have actual dead stock jeans from the 50s and 60s and they are far more flattering. Maybe I could size down (sold out), but there's just too much room in the crotch/rise. Makes me look like I have a fupa. A bit pricey. Shipping was slow. Going to return.

I loved the denim in these jeans. Classic denim of the best quality. The waist was just too too high for me. Please make other Jean styles with this type and weight of denim.

Il taille petit (il m’a fallu prendre 1 taille 26 alors que je prends du 24 pour le 501 ou le 505)
On ne peut pas choisir la longueur des jambes et celles-ci sont tres longues ! Oblgée de faire un ourlet, ce qui n’est pas top !
Seul avantage sa vraie taille haute qu’on ne trouve pas dans les « taille haute » de Levis
Ce jean est donc excessivement cher par rapport aux autres marques

Good fit, but did not get big E red tab as advertise

I was so happy that Levi's is making raw denim for women, especially in this 701 vintage fit. When my order arrived, first thing I noticed was I got the regular small e red tab instead of the vintage big E red tab as stated on the website. I contacted the customer service(both live chat and email) since last Thursday and still heard nothing from them(they said they will get back within 24 hours). Fit is good but very disappointed that levi's does not pay attention to small but important detail, and does not care to get back to the customer.

Looked ok but couldn't pull them past my hips. Not sure what features justified the original price, vintage or not, but never got to wear them.

DON'T SIZE UP!!!!

Me: 5'7" 140 lbs, 28.5 waist, 41" hips, VERY long waisted. I own the raw denim version of these jeans in a 28 and 27 (28 is form fitting but with a bit of space, and the 27s are snug everywhere)
For these jeans the reviews said to size up, so I went from my usual 28 to a 29 and I regret it. When I first put these on they felt perfect, not crazy tight, but not at all too big. After wearing these for an hour or 2 they had loosened up considerably especially in the waist, and by evening they were straight up too big, and not in a cute way. Because the rise is so high on these, once they start to sag then the whole vibe is off, and the crotch is too long, which makes the belly poof out on me , and I ended up with probably like 5 inches of extra fabric in the waist.
Important note: the denim on these is VERY THIN. Like chambray shirt thin. These are not going to stand up to wear and tear at all. And when you look inside to see how the "patches" are sewn in, none of the edges are finished. It's just one single row of stitching and then fraying chambray as the only thing holding these giant patches in place (that on these jeans are integral to the structural stability of you actually wearing pants).
So yeah, they are kind of cute, but I can't imagine how to actually buy the right size that looks good when you put them on AND still looks good at the end of the day. I definitely would not pay full price for these. My opinion is that you fork over the big bucks and get the raw denim 701s because those are worth it. Those are real denim, sewn with proper attention to detail, and will look better every time you wear them. Skip these. And Levi's: Try a little harder to be more consistent with your quality, you are blowing it with some of these styles.

These were pretty (and expensive) jeans. Very high waisted and very long! I returned them after trying them on, sadly.The fabric was soft and I was hopeful and even willing to have these altered, but the waist was almost under my chest.

Two sizes too tiny

These are so classically chic but alas the size 28 I usually wear in jeans didn’t stretch to my advantage. When I pulled them
Out of the box I noticed the waist was about 22 inches and after squeezing them
On there was no give. Too bad cause they’re so flattering. I tried to order up online but they are sold out. If they restock I might try again.

Fabric felt thin upon arrival and wore through within 10 wears and 2 washes. I ended up sending to a 3rd party for repairs and she said they were very poorly made Levi’s.

These run about one - two sizes too small

These run small and do not run true to size. I usually west a size 25 across Levi’s and these fit me super tight in the waist . Unfortunately these were final sale and I cannot return them.

Great material but 2 sizes too small!

Just purchased these and ordered the size 30 as I normally wear size 10's or 30's in Levi's and I couldn't even get the 30's past my thighs and they don't come any larger! Why LEVI"S WHYYYY? I'm not a big person but I do have hips and a butt. Super bummer because I REALLY wanted to be able to exchange for a larger size.
