About this Style

An homage to the ultimate thrill-seekers of the '50s: bikers. The Levi’s® Vintage Clothing 1955 501® Jean has a distinct “anti-fit” (or, slightly looser cut that stands in opposition to slimmer and skinnier styles) in the seat, as well as slightly fuller cut around the leg and an overall boxier silhouette. This version of the 501® still retains some classic features of its 1947 predecessor: belt loops as the only method of waist adjustment, hidden copper rivets on the back pockets, and a zinc button fly.

We pay tribute to the epitome of American rebellion with an archival reproduction of their jean of choice, crafted in premium selvedge denim.

Baggy in the legs, tight in the waist

My Grandfather wore nothing but 501’s until the day he died and then even after that, he was buried in them. My LBC 501 collection is my way of honoring him and the memory of such a great man that is truly missed after years of being gone. The jeans are slightly tight in the waist after soaking and the legs are baggy on my skinny legs, but you know that’s the ‘55 style and it’s a classic even though perhaps not the most flattering on my older guy body type, but I knew that before buying and I can’t deny the made in Japan quality and it’s true American Icon status.

I love these jeans, they fit a vintage aesthetic really well. The fit is loose but It doesn’t ballon around my legs. (my legs are pretty average) Also they shrink roughly an inch in the waist if you soak them in a tub so buy your true to size (they run a bit big) and they’ll stretch out to your true to size.
