Gives a more proportioned look than larger fits which may make you appear shorter than you actually are. Also, because the rise is lower they will sit on the hips rather than over the stomach. This helps if you have a bit of tummy weight as they won’t slide down and give that saggy butt look! So, perfect for smaller, slighter built men who want to look in proportion!

They are very comfortable and look great. I have been leaning towards the taper fits in the Levis assortment of Jeans. If you have large muscular calves the taper might be too tight.

My favorite Levi's jeans

This is the only type of jeans I buy from Levi's. 512 is great for men who are on the slimmer side and don't have bulky legs. This does not look skinny on me. It has enough room on the thighs and leg. I do wish that Levi's offer 28 or 29 inches in length. The problem with tapered jeans if you get them hemmed, you lose the tapered look and it will look more like a straight cut jean. Lastly, Levi's store in Market Street San Francisco does not sell 512's which is a bummer.
