The only reason y'all are so confused on sizing is because y'all are washing STF totally wrong! Your supposed to wash, IN HOT and dry, THREE TIMES before wearing., Following those directions and the rules up 1" in waist and 3" in length they'll fit like they should! I've been wearing Levi STF since b4 y'all were born!GenX baby!

I ordered them in my actual size, so glad I did, they shrink down to the label size. They are almost the same as the originals I first purchased in 1968, the only thing missing is the smell of the cotton, although I did get a slight whiff of it when I immersed them in hot water to STF. Really glad that Levi's are going back to their roots, we just need Sta-Prest to be reintroduced now, along with Levi's Dockers and the original chinos - I still have two pairs of chinos, they are still going strong afer 35 years.

I have a few pairs of Selvedge jeans 1947 & 1954 that are perfect, These 501 Jeans are excellent value for money, just watch the sizing I am a 34 inch wast so allowing for 2 inch shrinkage in the waist, I ordered two pairs a 34 waist & a 36 waist, 34 waist comes up as a 36 waist & the 36 waist comes up as a 38 waist returned the 36 waist, the 34 waist are perfect fit.

Hi. I really struggled with the sizing information on these jeans. They are called shrink to fit and the label mentions they will shrink by 2 sizes in waist and 2 inches in length upon washing which makes things a bit confusing. I purchased my normal size jeans W34xL34. When I first tried them on they were too long and a bit too baggy and with some room in the waist (but certainly not 2 sizes of room in the waist). Once I washed them in cold water and let them air dry, they now fit perfectly. So my recommendation would be to go with your typical Levi’s jeans size, wash in cold water and air dry. I really like the overall cut and look of the jeans. They are a little baggier than a typical 501 and the weight of the denim is very nice. The denim is a bit stiffer, but has a nice crisp look. The 501/150 and selvedge details are done well and the craftsmanship is right on. They are an expensive pair of jeans, but I feel like they will last a long time.

Those jeans are great but there is too few information provided about them. I know these are selvedge. But... 1. Are they raw? 2. Are they sanforized? 3. Are they shrink to fit? 4. What's the shrinkage level when washed? 5. How to treat them?

150th Anniversary Keeper

Very nice mid-weight STF selvedge denim. I bought my normal size, NOT 1 or 2 sizes up, since the waist was already a little bit big and length was probably 1.5-2 inches longer than the tagged size. After one cold wash and one warm wash these have shrunk down nicely in the length, rise and thighs. The waist maybe shrank 1/2 inch. One more warm wash and I think all the shrinkage will be out of the denim and they'll be perfect. Classic 501 fit, but probably a wee bit wider in the thighs and calves than the standard 501 STFs.
The branding on the selvedge is a bit much, but I can live with it.
Only other thing that would have made these really special would have been making these in the USA, just like they were 150 years ago !

Bought these in my actual waist size and 2 inches longer in the inseam and after a cold wash and line dry, they came out perfect. I wear them with a 2 inch cuff at the bottom. All of the stiching and details in these jeans are perfect. The inside front pockets are made from a thicker material than their other 501’s and you will not be disappointed in the quality of the denim in the 150th Anniversary 501’s.

Rockabilly cats are always on the lookout for cool vintage threads. A re-issue of a 1950's cut selvedge 501 fits the bill beautifully. As per the Rules of Rockabilly, a 4 inch cuff is required, and revealing the tell-tale selvedge stitching is a source of pride and authenticity. Remember to follow the shrink-to-fit guidelines.

Buy a pair which has a perfect fit

I'm a woman of 5'7" in height, and a boyish body shape and bought these men's pair as I much prefer the look of these than the ladies' version of the same 150th birthday edition which has an ordinary lighter blue wash and high-waisted. I take Levi's 501 ladies fit in size 27 normally, so after reading the description here, I ordered size 30 (size 29 was not available) which fitted and looked just right already. I was concerned about the shrinkage warning so ordered a 31. But size 31 was huge and I thought even after the shrinkage, they could be still large. So I decided to take a chance and keep the 30. Putting them on and sit in a warm bath for 30 minutes seemed like bonkers so I washed them in 'hand wash' cycle without detergent in my washing machine. That's at 30 degree C and 800 spin speed for 46 minutes. I put them on straight away after washing as in the recommendation and wandered around the house for about an hour. To my relief, they fit and look exactly the same as before washing! I'm glad these jeans came out now as I wouldn't fancy spending a day in a damp pair of jeans in winter! I then noticed my hands were all blue! So I took them off and hang them to dry outside in the sun. I already have a pair of selvedge jeans from another retailer so I knew the colour transfer but probably others are not aware of this. I think Levis should warn about this which is an equally important thing to remember. Don't sit on light-coloured soft furnishings! I'm not wearing the other pair of selvedge so I don't know how long this colour transfer will last? So, my advice is that unless you want a baggy fit, buy the pair which fits and looks best before washing as they don't shrink that much, certainly not 2 inches overall. 100% cotton means that they will stretch as you wear them over time anyway. I haven't worn them yet but I've given 5 stars as they seem so far so good, having a nice slim straight leg fit with about 2 inch turn-ups. Perfect!

Oh my days! I bought my first pair of Shrink-To-Fit Levi's whenI was a teenager back in about 1973 and I fell in love with Levi's jeans from that moment, however in recent years I've found the quality to have been somewhat lacking and the denim was never as good as it was back in 'the good old days'.
Then I bought a pair of 150 year celebration 501s and myfaith and enthusiasm has been restored. Undoubtedly the best pair of jeans I've purchased in the last thirty years. I love them. 🤩🤩🤩

Selvage jeans sturdy and tough. Copper inner rivets with 150 yr span is a nice touch, inner jean has a 'Levi 150' inscribed along the pant leg, and of course the 150 on the red back pocket make this pair unique and celebrated. This is not a skinny jean fits like most 501 jeans

First off, I do not consider these low rise, I‘d say midrise. They aren’t that far off my Oni-902ZR or my Samurai S520XX21oz in rise though they’re definitely not high. I love the details, from the hidden rivets at the back to the tobacco/lemon stitching and the hidden selvedge line in the coin pocket. I usually wear a 33 -34 in Japanese denim but im a 32 in these. 180Lbs. 5’11

I've run size 34/36 for the last 30 years or so. According to the sizing instructions for these i should have bought 36/38 (which is not available). The store only had 34/34. I tried them on and found that true size is probably 36/38. Went home, washed them, and they fit perfectly! Levi's really need to get the sizing sorted. Brilliant blue color after wash and a nice feel. In a couple of years we will know if the quality is any better than the modern self-destruct 501's.

Jeans are outstanding. Fabric sensational. Finish phenomenal. Fit, not so good. Levi's web page had little information on how to buy the right size. So much conflicting information on the internet on how to buy shrink to fit. I called customer service and received wonderful lady who tried to help so I ordered from her online as she advised to by 2" too big in waist and length, which I did, 34W30L. When the pants arrived I measured the L and it was exactly 30" but the waist was 36". I tried various suggested shrinking methods including, finally washing in hot water and drying. Waist seems to have settled at 34" and length at 29". The nice lady said I could return them, but I'll keep them. They're a little baggy in the leg and long, sorta like the model wears them, so I'll roll them up and see how they age.

Great jeans and amazingly well made. Shrink to fit denim is awesome. Only criticism is the weird text running through the selvege edge. Would have preferred just the regular white/red seam.

Estuve dudando al principio, si comprar mi talla habitual o 2 tallas más, como indican en la instrucciones de shrink to fit. Al final me compré mi talla habitual, 36/34, pero aún así, cuando me los probé quedaban grandísimos de ancho, ni que decir de largo. Aún así me metí en la bañera, se encogieron algo. Creo que acerté comprando mi talla habitual; se han adaptado bien a mi cuerpo, de todas formas el estilo-corte es algo distinto al levi's original. Lo que si se nota es la dureza del material de buena calidad.

Got these as there was a good offer and I have previously bought 501 selvedge and been happy with them. No disappointment here, lovely dark denim that wash great if you take the care. Only thing I wasn’t so keen on was the writing on the selvedge-not really needed, but can live with it.
Bit roomier than the normal 501,which I prefer and also a nice long leg, would of liked the option of a 36 leg to get a nice cuff, it would be great to have the choice, as i’m sure there are plenty of tall fellas who would agree. Great denims for a great price…what’s not to like!

HUBBY'S FAVORITE JEANS - BUT HE'S NO FOOL!

My hubby loves the Levis Original Shrink-to-Fit Non-Stretch Jeans and I would give them 5 Stars but the 'Original' is actually a lie. He's been wearing these jeans for many years and 'originally' they would have a bit of soft fuzz after they were washed a few times indicating the 'original' cotton was of superior quality than the current lower quality but not lower priced versions. In a nutshell you can't fool anyone that actually experienced the original 501s. Close but no cigar!

I hate sloppy jeans. I love selvege. I love shrink-to-fit. But after arriving, it was very obvious that these jeans would never shrink-to-fit to hug my calves. Great construction, but not a fit I ever want to buy. "Shrink-to-fit" means hugging the curves of the body... not being sloppy.
