Here’s an easy DIY project to give your old denim a new life, using supplies you probably already have at home to create a perfectly imperfect texture.
WHAT YOU`LL NEED:
Jeans (or shorts!)
Ruler
Scissors
Chalk
Step 1:
Measure a diagonal grid on your jeans using your ruler and chalk. Grid squares should be one or two inches apart depending on your preference. Smaller squares (1.5 inches shown here) will give your jeans a more distressed look.
Step 2:
Pinch the fabric and cut a tiny hole where each line meets. Be extra careful around the pockets so you don’t cut the lining.
Step 3:
Put your jeans in the washing machine to get the frayed effect. Hang them dry and boom: you have a whole new look. Feeling crafty? Get inspired with more DIY projects on the blog.
