The website advises to order one size above what you would normally buy. For example, 36 waist would need a 38 belt. It is true. Order one size above so in this case a 40 belt. It fits perfectly and it is as wide as the belt loops on 502 jeans.

This is an excellent belt, and the quality is top notch, but beware of the sizing of this product. This belt is almost the same as a Levis belt I bought about 20 years ago. I laid the two belts out on the kitchen counter and they are exactly the same length and the belt holes even align perfectly. However the belt I bought 20 years ago was a size 36 (for a size 34 jeans). This new belt is a size 38 (for a size 34 jeans). I was going to buy a size 36 but then one of the reviews on this website said to buy two sizes up from your jeans size, and not the usual one size up. That turns out to be true. Not sure why Levis has changed their belt sizes but, to avoid disappointment, be sure to buy a Levis belt that is TWO sizes up from your jeans size. Keep calm and carry on.

Not as thick as my previous belt but adequate so far. Ask me in five years.

I was looking for a belt that both looked good and should be durable. I don't like belts that have a lot of stitching holding multiple layers together, I prefer a single layered belt. I just received it today so I can't say how well it will hold up but today it is good. The one thing I don't like with the Levi sizing system is that with s 34 waist I had to order a 38 belt, it doesn't make sense to me.
