Another Classic Reissue...

The 1961 Trucker is truly a stitch for stitch classic! Material and workmanship as expected from a piece from Japan production of Japanese materials. As the era, sizing is a bit on the smaller side. Normally, in preshrunk I'd opt for a Large....Here i took an XL...Looks great!...The only thing that I would have expected at this price level was selvedge material.

Fantastic Piece even if it’s expensive

Picked this up on black friday as soon as I saw it, I think it has been a long time since they did a run of the 1961 version of the type 3, instead of the 1967 version. This jacket represents everything that is great about LCC, and I hope Levi’s keeps making clothing of this calibre. This jacket is excellent, the stitching is almost immaculate, the denim is gorgeous (full of nep and some subtle skin£ and dye is a rich dark indigo that I know will be full of character after some wear and washes. The contrast yellow stitching is also absolutely beautiful, and really makes this piece stand out. The fit is also excellent, and the fact that the denim is sanforised means it’s much easier to get the right size and not worry about too much shrinkage (like my type 2 sadly did in the sleeves!). Overall, I’d say this jacket is well worth the money (on sale that is) and I look forward to wearing it for years to come. Minor things I think could have been improved: - The font for the “557XX” is great, but the number sizing font looks too modern for a jacket from the 60s and too basic. - There were no original labels / flashers on the jacket like they do with the LVC jeans, which I think would be a nice addition. Especially since we are paying for the history of the jacket!

Couldn’t be happier, even at that price

I previously ordered a type 2 which I loved but unfortunately was too small for me after washing. I saw this was released and i think it has been years since they last release raw versions of the type 3, let alone the 1961 version as opposed to 1967. I saw it as a sign to take the plunge and go for it. The fact that the denim is pre shrunk is a huge plus for me as it fits absolutely perfectly on me. If you have long arms like me you know how hard it can be to size jackets well, but this fits my arms perfectly (Size L, 6’ 1, 60kg). The denim is utterly gorgeous, super dark indigo and lots of nep, and even some slub which is rare to see before it’s even seen water. The details are immaculate, the stitching is perfect and I hope I can wear this jacket for years to come. You will not be disappointed. Another bonus is that shipping was super quick, even when I ordered it on the evening of black Friday, it arrived less than 48 hours later on a sunday! Tiniest problem I have is the font on the inner patch. I like the font on the “557XX” but the “42” looks like calibri and not something they would’ve actually printed in the early 60s imo, but that is so personal preference. Overall, even though these things are expensive (would not pay the full price), i would say it’s worth it if you just love the historic details and denim characteristics. Imo LVC jackets are higher quality than their LVC jeans which I’ve also got several pairs of. 5/5 - levi’s please never end LVC and keep making things like this!!!

Nothing suits me like this jacket

Best fit in closet! Materials are just great, a little stiff, but soft to the touch from the inside. Would be a five stars, but for the price, I would have expected selvedge fabric as with other jackets from the LVC line.
