Selvedge denim hits different.

The Selvedge denim jeans just hit different. The quality, feel, and weight of the denim is just so much better than the regular denim. I wouldn't necessary say it justifies the much higher price but it does feel better. And by the time they go on sale they're usually out of my size. So go figure...

I've been wearing Levis all my life - they are my day-to-day goto jeans. A few years back, I'd order several sizes they were so inconsistent, and I'd send the rejects back. But past few years seems like they have that sorted out. I just order my size and they fit.
These are a mid-to-heavy weight, feel substantial, and look great. The selvedge MIJ jeans are always worth grabbing when you can.
Some people complain about the weight of the denim compared to the "old days". I think you just need to shop more carefully as there are far more options than in the past. There are many weights and types of fabrics to suit different needs. Some of the lighter ones are much better in the hot summer!

Made in Japan is good as always. No color change or shrinkage after wash. The seat for 511 is slightly tight.
