About this Style

This 1953 Type II Jacket is a slightly updated and modified version of our iconic Type I Jacket made in 1936. Cut from rigid selvedge denim, it was considered the unofficial uniform of the American working man. True to the original, this icon features the “Two Horse” lot 507 leather patch, a double pleated front, waist adjusters and a Big "E" Red Tab™.

Lange gesucht und oft ausverkauft. Keine einzige in Japan gefunden.. Sie war online und ich habe direkt zugeschlagen und muss sagen, sie Vintage Type 2 ist absolute Handwerkskunst und einfach ein piece of art. Das Denim ist von höchster Qualität und fühlt sich auch so an. Bei der Passform sollte man beachten, ob man sie „richtig“ waschen möchte. Wenn ja, mindestens eine Nummer großer kaufen. Sie ist den Preis wert!

Wanted to give a good review for this so here it goes. I am 6’ ~195lbs, 46” chest. After reading other reviews and some help from an online chat - thank you online team!- i ordered the XL and am glad I did. First off, i love the boxier, blouson style cut of this jacket. I was worried about it accentuating my bulkier frame but its very flattering - pleats are your friend! Unwashed, the fit was darn near perfect. After a cold wash and extra rinse, i did notice a minute amount of shrinking - mainly the sleeves and length but it was as expected since I sized up so it worked as good as i hoped. It feels even more tailored after wearing it wet and giving it a gentle stretch to get some perceived length back. The fabric has substance, a nice slubby quality, and the stitching and finish feel worth the premium. I looked at a number of other japanese repro brands but why not get the real thing?

Love this jacket!

literally the only issue i have with the jacket is the lack of hand pockets. But as the 507XX didnt originally have them, it makes sense. This jacket looks great & feels great. I'm very stoked to have found it while on the other side of the country for a trade show. Right place, right time!

Bought this jacket last summer and i've loved it ever since. its a really good quality jacket. I bought size medium and it fit perfectly. Buy it with confidence if you want a really superb quality jacket. I would say that it will last a life time if you take care of it.
