501 '93 Fits Like 505 Without the Unwanted Stretch

The 501 '93 cut is in-between 505 and 555. It's only slightly roomier than the original 501 and not baggy at all. It's much slimmer than the relaxed 555 or 550. The fabric is non-stretch 100% cotton, and is slightly thinner than the fabric used in Premium 555 (100% cotton version). I bought it to try selvedge on 501 and I was not disappointed. However this particular version already has its own frays and character, so don't expect to have unique personalization as it ages.

I love these jeans!!! The material feels great and the sizing for me is perfect. I’m 6ft at 175 with slightly thicker than normal thighs. Wearing a 32x32 is perfect in the 93’s; that little extra room makes them so comfortable for me. Regular 501s can be a bit snug for me in the seat and thighs. Please Levi’s always keep these in the line up!!!

These are what a 501 what SHOULD be. They've turned into skinny jeans but these fit more like the vintage made in America pairs I've had. The extra room in the thigh is crucial. If you can get these on a 50 percent off sale it's a heck of a deal for selvedge jeans. Will buy more washes once they go back on sale. Like others have said, size up one in the waist.

These jeans feel like jeans should feel. I usually buy Levis as a throw away "knockaround" pair of jeans that wont last, but do the job. But these... next level and you can tell they will hold up. Great cut and solid construction, not to mention awesome color that goes with everything. My only watch out for potential buyers is that they are super still which makes them feel tight. I went one size up and they still felt tight. A week later they are starting to feel fine but it is taking time. Other than that they are on par with a pair of Nudie Jeans in terms of quality.

I have been wearing 501's since 1970. The quality remains to this day. The 501 93 Selvedge is a great fit that sits a touch higher in the waist and a touch wider in the leg and these tiny changes work. I love my 501's !
