About this Style
On May 20th, 1873, Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis secured a patent (No. 139,121) for “an Improvement in Fastening Pocket Openings.” The West Coast at that time was a loose patchwork of farms, ranches, railroads and gold mines. Jacob Davis—a tailor from Reno, Nevada—had the idea of placing rivets on work pants at points of strain, and joined forces with his denim supplier Levi Strauss in San Francisco. The riveted blue jean was born. Soon, Levi’s® became the clothing of choice for the rugged, hodgepodge band of workers, outcasts, entrepreneurs and outlaws building America’s future. This season we pay tribute to their innovation and collaboration.
This Bay Meadows Crew Sweatshirt is an exact replica of one of our 1940s archival garments. Subtle detailing makes it stand out, like the curved seams of its raglan sleeves, the V-shaped inserts at both the front and the back, and its extra-long ribbed sleeve cuffs.

Better Sweatshirt than average

Wanted a better quality sweat shirt. Most on the market are clearly made to a price, and it shows. So was very pleased to try yours. It's great and I liked it so much that I bought a second one.

I now own 5 of the Bay Meadows sweatshirts. They are classically styled, understated, and they drape well. The black is a favorite, works well with jeans. The sweatshirt is not heavy or bulky. It provides just the right amount of warmth when a T shirt will not do it, but still has a relaxed, causal appearance. A wardrobe staple.

Bought medium fit. Sleeves and body are the perfect length. Warm without being bulky. Really like the longer cuffs, all makes for a very comfortable fit. ALSO - great to be able to buy quality clothing without the manufacturer's logo being emblazoned across the front or back! This will last many years and is worth every penny.

Le sweat est conforme à mes attentes, à voir comment est-ce qu'il évoluera dans le temps. C'est une coupe boxy, je mesure 1m80 et j'ai pris une taille L, la longueur des manches est parfaite. La couleur est très sympa, facile à accorder. Un bon produit pour du Made in Portugal 100% coton d'une marque aussi emblématique et histoire que Lévi's.

Initially wanted the yellow color but didn’t have my size, so went with black. Fits well. The color is a faded “worn” black, which I’m fine with. It’s warm too. Only downside is, when I tried it on, I thought I would look like the model in the picture, but nope, no such luck. Other than that, would buy again. Love Levi products.

Firstly, man this thing is soft! The brushed cotton is so soft and it makes for great layering. The cut is very akin to the proper sweatshirts of the 1940s...I’m glad they really kept it true to the originals. Overall very very pleased with my purchase and glad I finally got the sweater I’ve always wanted, and the last I’ll ever need!

Great Looking, but....

I love this take on the sweatshirt. The white, with grey at the waist, wrists and at the collar and V cutout was a great design. But...the sizing on this shirt is WAY off. I ordered my normal size, Large, and it simply is too small. The sleeves barely hit my wrists, and it hits RIGHT at the waist, so if I raise my arms, the sleeve slides way up, and bottom slides WAY up my stomach. I would go one size up when ordering.

I usually size up on LVC tops but this one is good. I take an XL in the 50’s t shirt but a large in this. Not super heavyweight but great layering piece. Lost dye in the first wash

This sweater has a nice lightweight french terry fabric. The sleeves are very, very short. I normally wear size medium or large in sweaters. I ordered an XL. The sleeves fit like a size SMALL. Yes, sleeves are incredibly short. I mean it. Ordering one size up won't help much as the sleeves are two size smaller on this sweater.

De stof is heerlijk zacht en de kleur in het echt nog mooier dan op foto. Des te groter is de teleurstelling dat de trui in XL nog steeds te klein voor mij is, terwijl ik normaal L draag. Het zelfde probleem had ik al eens eerder met een t-shirt uit de VTG collectie. Waarom wordt er niet een XXL aan toegevoegd?? Kennelijk is de VTG collectie niet gemaakt voor de langere persoon.

I was a teenager in the 90’s. We called it rap not hip hop. This sweater was too small on me but then again I’m 6’2 with broad shoulders. This sweater got returned today. I’d imagine an XXL would suit an aging derelict hipster like myself more appropriately. Yo!?

SLEEVES TOO SMALL

Love the fit through the body and the unique seaming of the sleeves but unfortunately when re-issuing this style they must have forgot to make the sleeves appropriate for todays taller customers. I am only 5'11 and a 30 waist 40 chest. I wear M in most tops, and the body of this style looks great on my torso and shoulders but the the sleeves on me are about 2 inches too short. I will probably just roll the sleeves up when i wear it as I do like the detailing but if it fit me properly I would have probably ordered it in several colours. I think the vintage design team need to pay closer attention to proportions of todays consumer

I’m sure it is lovely quality and a great fit, what it also is is gray, not white. When spending £140 on a white sweatshirt there is an expectation that it’s white, not the same grubby grey as every other one you can buy. Very poor Levi’s, very poor,

Having never had an issue with sleeve length before, it was odd to find that these were weirdly short. I am slim and usually sit between XS and S, but this was snug even in S. I would also say that the quality is not what you would expect.
