“When I hear ‘jeans and a nice top’, two things stand out to me,” she tells us. “One is that it's really accessible. Most people own a pair of jeans and will have nice tops in their wardrobe. It doesn’t feel scary or intimidating.” Of course, Charithra is right. The reason we’re all obsessed with this pairing is exactly why it’s experiencing a style renaissance, breaking out of the reputation that it was just the reserve of the Y2K era for us all to fasttrack it to the top of our fashion wishlists. Secondly, Charithra notes that it’s an effortless choice to return to time and time again, which makes her love it all the more. “It can easily be dressed up or down. So, for me, it's a winning combination.” We can’t help but agree.

It's imperative that I have a small number of items that can mix and match between them and create a variety of looks for different events, be it chilling with friends or going to a picnic.”
