About this Style
  • Widely considered the original skinny-fitting jean, the 606® Jean was introduced in the late 1960s for a new generation of Levi’s fans that were looking for slim, stylish fits that wouldn't break the bank
  • Made using Line 8 construction, a simple and more cost-effective method that involved fewer steps: bar tacks instead of copper rivets, a zip fly instead of buttons, a single thread color, a leather-like patch with black ink, copper shanks, seven belt loops, a double fell seam and long, lean back pockets
  • Levi’s® Vintage Clothing recreates the exact medium-weight 14oz open-end preshrunk denim by sourcing the correct yarns, using the exact pure indigo shade, weaving the fabric on the same looms, and using the same Line 8 techniques and original patterns
  • True to the original, it includes the big “E” orange tab on the back right pocket, and period-correct packaging

Fantastic product, kudos to Levi's

Really nice denim. My pair was made in Turkey, of sturdy non selvedge denim, consistent with the original model it has no rivets, has an orange tab, Talon zipper and patch with black lettering. Although not being selvedge the inner and outer seams are beautifully felled so you can wear hemmed and look nice too. You can expect some shrinkage after washing, I bought the exact size, so I have washed in cold water for minimal shrinkage. The slim fit cut and tapered leg is nice for my slender body. Fantastic product, kudos to Levi's

They have a nice rigid feeling, preshrunk, looks and feels much higher quality. They fit perfect from top to bottom. My size is 34x32. Made in USA tab inside stitched (CW-0215).

High Quality Medium-Rise Slim Tapered Fit

I've been on the hunt for months for a pair of thicker raw (rigid) denim jeans with a medium to high rise and slim tapered fit, and I finally found that in the LVC 606. The fit is similar to the 512, with a slightly higher rise and not quite as much taper below the knee, but noticeably slimmer and more tapered below the knee than the 511. Great medium rise, with the top of the jeans sitting about 1.5" below my belly button. This provides a more classic silhouette and prevents the plumber's crack that I get from low-rise modern cuts when I sit down. As for the fabric, being (I believe) 14 oz. 100% cotton denim, it's noticeably thicker and stiffer than the typical lightweight stretch-blend variety you'll find on most Levi's main line jeans, and looks and feels much higher quality. Note that with the thicker material, there will be some break-in period where bending your knees and getting the pants on and off will be a little difficult. But stick with it and you'll see creasing develop as the jeans conform to you. I'm looking forward to seeing these develop character and fading over time. For sizing, I'd recommend buying roughly one size smaller than your waist measurement (where your pants sit). My waist measurement where my jeans typically sit is about 31-31.5", and after trying on both the 30 and 31 I went with the 30 waist size. Rigid denim tends to stretch a bit over time, so I didn't want to buy true-to-size as it would likely end up being about 1" too large in the waist and seat after break-in. The 30 felt tight at first and was a little difficult to button, but after a few days of wear already feels a lot more comfortable in both the waist and seat. One final note - the 31 I tried on was made in Turkey with (c)2016 on the tags, while the 30 (the one I kept) was made in the USA with (c)2015 on the tags, though they were both ordered in late 2017. I think the LVC 606 used to be made in the USA but is now being manufactured overseas. I don't think there's any difference in cut, but just something to keep in mind if you care about where your jeans are made.

Great Jeans, Not Selvedge

These jeans are fantastic. But if youre a selvedge fan like me, you may be disappointed. This is a true reproduction of the 1969 606, meaning there is a paper patch (not leather) and there is no visible selvedge, as the pants were stitched together quite uniquely during this run. Whether or not they are raw denim is unsure, it came with a cone mills tag so I assume they are, but there is no visible selvedge.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Solid cut.

This is what the 511 should be. I second the last guy: Levis needs to ditch low rise jeans.

Fantastic quality denim, but sizing runs extremely small

I have purchased raw denim several times in the past and figured I would try out Levi's vintage line. I often wear 511's in 33 or 34, so to be safe, I purchased a 33 in the 606. Fit was uncomfortably snug to begin with, but in my experience raw denim tends to stretch a lot. After several weeks, I have not seen a substantial stretch in these jeans, and they are still quite uncomfortable. They look great, but I would not recommend them unless you purchase a size or two above your normal size.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Returned. Too much taper.

Since I could barely fit my size 8.5 foot through the leg opening, these went back. They also ran large in the waist and are apparently preshrunk (sanforized). Still waiting on my refund, although Levi’s received my return 7 days ago.

No, I do not recommend this product.
