Alteration
Modifying garments to achieve a better fit or desired style through techniques like hemming, tapering, and adjusting lengths while maintaining original garment features.

Repairing
Fixing damaged garments by mending holes, tears, and worn areas, including patching, darning, and replacing components like belt loops, to restore and extend the life of the clothing.

Sundries
Decorative elements such as patches, buttons, studs, and shank buttons that are used to personalize and enhance garments, adding unique and stylish touches.

Upcycling
The creative process of transforming old or unused garments into new, fashionable pieces by redesigning and repurposing materials, promoting sustainability while showcasing individual style.

Embroidery
A sewing technique where a series of looped stitches form a chain-like pattern. Chain stitching can be used in embroidery to monogram or “draw” illustrations in fabric.

Distressing
The art of making apparel to wear or become well-worn by using a razor or dremel. Distressed jeans feature fraying, stitches or rip-and-repair details to create a worn, lived-in look.

Paneling
Involves replacing sections of a garment with new fabric panels, often using different materials or colors, to refresh or customize the look, commonly applied to jackets, jeans, and other denim items.

SERVICES SIMPLIFIED

Our Tailor Shops offer a plethora of options that we’ve bucketed into three categories:

‘Alter’ is the category for any service that makes an item fit your body perfectly, think of these as the finishing touches such as hems or tapers.

‘Repair’ is for the services that refresh a beloved piece of yours, more or less just professional patchwork or stitching that will extend the life of your favorite pair of jeans.

Lastly, we have ‘Customize’ where you have the chance to be more hands-on in the design process and create 1-of-a-kind pieces. This could be as simple as adding a monogram or swapping out your buttons, tab, and backpatch, to the more involved custom chain stitch design, to (drum roll please…) upcycling your old favorite into something new. May we suggest turning your jeans into a new skirt?
