Waist is much smaller than other brands. I usually wear 33 in 511s and other brands, so I got 34 based on reviews online. Before wash it was already uncomfortably tight, but considering that the thighs and below were bigger, I decided to keep it. After first cold, light machine wash, I stretched the waist on a chair back to dry. Length shrank about 1-1.25”, and after the stretch the waist was better. After 4 wears and second light cold wash, everything is good, except I’m surprised by the amount of indigo still bleeding onto my hands and furniture. Good quality overall, but some loose threading. Overall, I don’t regret it.

These are my first 501 shrink to fit. I would recommend going up 2 sizes on the waist on the length I stayed with my regular length 30. It shrunk after the first watch which helped to be more better fitting. The only con I have on it was that it wasn’t made in japan. But other than that it is a great pair of jeans.

Bought these 2 months ago and have worn them every day. I used the soaking method in the bath and they fit perfectly. Took a month or so for them to break in but are so comfortable. Bought my normal size in the waist and 2 inches longer in the leg. Love these so much I have just bought a second pair.

Je porte habituellement des 501 femme taille 25, pour l’achat de ce modèle 501 1947´s je me suis laissé guider par le site qui me conseillait (avec ma taille et mon poids enregistré) la taille 29. Comme il est pré-rétréci (je confirme aucun rétrécissement au 1er lavage) et que je le souhaitais le porter moins large que mon modèle 1980´s, j’ai risqué un 28 et il me va parfaitement. La couleur est très belle, foncée comme on aime, et la toile de belle qualité et «made in Japan » ! Je suis ravie de mon achat.

Great jeans, run slightly small and I hope they will stretch as they break in though! Denim is beautiful. Really well made.
