It’s been a while since I’ve purchased a new pair of Levi’s but the end of year sale allowed me to jump back in (3 pair total!). It is like meeting up with an old friend - the quality, fit and color are just outstanding (like it was 50 years ago). Bravo to Levi’s for staying true to quality and standard. Love it!

Very Comfortable Jeans

I love these jeans. They're very comfortable without feeling baggy. I'm 5'7" and 165 pounds. I went with my usual size of 32×30. I wish I had gotten them a little longer to be able to cuff them but I'm still very pleased. I also love that they're 100% cotton.

The cathedral color is casual and even, the fabric comfortable and familiar. '93 Selvedge 501s fit with a bit more room in the seat and hips than Straight fit and the opening is just right for boots; construction or kickin' it.

'93 Straight Fit Selvedge compared

I like these because the thigh is slightly larger than on the original 501s that are pre-shrunk. With the original 501s, in the size I wear (33w34l), the leg opening looks the same width as the thigh, which makes the bottom part look a little too wide. These '93 Straight look a little more tapered due to the wider thigh. They look quite similar to 505s. But the fabric is thicker than 505s selvedge. They also sit a little higher than 505s which is good if you really need inseam size 33 in 505s, and that size is no longer sold

Great pair of 501's...beautiful details and wash is unique and cool! These fit perfectly right out of the wrapping...I bought them in a 32 x 32 after reading the reviews and also based on other Levi's I own. Great value here in the construction, denim, and details such as stitching. Fit is slightly more "fitted" than the traditional 501 Selvedge model.

These are beautiful 501's...super soft and great craftmanship compared to the standard STF 501's I own. I bought these in "my size" which is an actual 32 x 32 after reading all the reviews. When buying standard Shrink To Fit 501's I buy a 33 x 34 and they are always perfect after 2 washings. Right out of the gates these were somewhat snug at the waist and hips but perfect length. After wearing them a couple of days they are like a second skin. Love them and the value here is in the details and craftsmanship.

501 '93 Fits Like 505 Without the Unwanted Stretch

The 501 '93 cut is in-between 505 and 555. It's only slightly roomier than the original 501 and not baggy at all. It's much slimmer than the relaxed 555 or 550. The fabric is non-stretch 100% cotton, and is slightly thinner than the fabric used in Premium 555 (100% cotton version). I bought it to try selvedge on 501 and I was not disappointed. However this particular version already has its own frays and character, so don't expect to have unique personalization as it ages.

Love the 93’s

I love these jeans!!! The material feels great and the sizing for me is perfect. I’m 6ft at 175 with slightly thicker than normal thighs. Wearing a 32x32 is perfect in the 93’s; that little extra room makes them so comfortable for me. Regular 501s can be a bit snug for me in the seat and thighs. Please Levi’s always keep these in the line up!!!

These are what a 501 what SHOULD be. They've turned into skinny jeans but these fit more like the vintage made in America pairs I've had. The extra room in the thigh is crucial. If you can get these on a 50 percent off sale it's a heck of a deal for selvedge jeans. Will buy more washes once they go back on sale. Like others have said, size up one in the waist.

These jeans feel like jeans should feel. I usually buy Levis as a throw away "knockaround" pair of jeans that wont last, but do the job. But these... next level and you can tell they will hold up. Great cut and solid construction, not to mention awesome color that goes with everything. My only watch out for potential buyers is that they are super still which makes them feel tight. I went one size up and they still felt tight. A week later they are starting to feel fine but it is taking time. Other than that they are on par with a pair of Nudie Jeans in terms of quality.

I have been wearing 501's since 1970. The quality remains to this day. The 501 93 Selvedge is a great fit that sits a touch higher in the waist and a touch wider in the leg and these tiny changes work. I love my 501's !
