About this Style
Rarely does a garment symbolize the American workforce like our Levi’s® 1936 Type I Jacket. Made from rigid selvedge denim, it was considered the unofficial uniform of the American working man. True to the original, this jacket features defining details, like the double pleated front, single chest pocket, exposed copper rivets and copper-pronged cinch back for an adjustable fit. 1936 also marks the first year the Big "E" Red Tab™ was added to Levi's® products.

Favorite jacket.

This is one of LVC finest reproductions period. The denim weight and details are very good and in line with originals. It is one jacket I will always own. I wear an XL but bought an XXL tagged 46 and after a cold soak it fits perfectly. So my advice is size up if you are going to wash.
Now if LVC would do a war time reissue I might have to open the wallet. (hint hint)

The Best Denim Jacket I’ve Ever Owned

The Levi’s® Vintage Clothing 1936 Type I Jacket has instantly become my favorite denim jacket. I picked it up in size L - normally I wear a medium, but since it’s STF (shrink-to-fit), sizing up was the right move. After one wash it shrank perfectly and now fits like it was tailored for me.
The blue color is incredible, with a shade that feels authentic and rich. The denim has that unmistakable vintage character you just can’t fake. It’s truly one of a kind and only gets better every time I wear it.
Worth every penny.
