Simple well made and exactly what I was looking for in a pair of 501’s. Great material and a great fit

Fancy 501s? They were already good, these are like having wayfarers and a nice pair of chucks at the same time!

A little extra money but worth it. Fit and quality is a touch above the high-end leather patch 501s (which are great too). If you cuff them, the selvedge finishing is a nice detail. Also: I got mine shortened at the Levis store and the have the option to keep the original hem. Once again, cost a little extra but worth it! I'll be wearing these a very long time.

I’ve always had a curiosity about selvedge denim but assumed them a bit out of my price range. The 501 selvedge I purchased were at a great sale price so I jumped in. A real lovely pair of heavy weight jeans , I love them !

A combination of sale price and points voucher proved too much of a temptation to try a pair these shrink to fit selvedge jeans. I was not disappointed. Reviews suggested the jeans would shrink when washed so I also ordered a larger size. The smaller size fitted well at the waist but were slightly longer in leg length which would have required having a deeper cuff. The jeans are well constructed but the material was very stiff and fastening and opening the buttons was difficult. Because the jeans were roomy I decided to risk a low temperature wash and the result was perfect. The fit remains roomy and the only shrinkage was in the length with the hem now sitting on neatly on the top of my shoes, but still allowing a narrow cuff. The material has softened slightly and the buttons are more easily managed. The closer weave of the material make these a sturdier pair of jeans and I hope with careful laundering will give me many years of wear. I am very satisfied with the purchase. As for the other pair, I returned them to a store and received excellent service. The refund was in my account within a couple of days. Another example of the good customer service I have found when dealing directly with Levi's.
