The repro Type 2 , 1953 is a real stunner! Denim at its rugged best, looks like it just came from a day down on the farm roping cattle. Fit is slightly big, size down for me is perfect. Levi, top notch as usual.

The jacket is shrink to fit, so check the sizing and account for that! Other than this, the material is rigid indeed but will get softer after the soaking

I’ll admit I’m no expert on denim but the jacket appears to be very high quality denim, made in Japan. The stitching is top-rate, very clean and clearly attention was paid to making the jacket. Personally, I find the jacket a little on the smaller side in the chest (when compared to the same sized XL Type 1), so will be doing a minimal cold wash. There are a lot of reproductions out there these days but why not get the real thing?

Love the fit and color of this jacket. Be warned there are no side pockets or inside pockets, just the front two uppers. Can be hard to find in some countries.

Sie war online und ich habe direkt zugeschlagen und muss sagen, sie Vintage Type 2 ist absolute Handwerkskunst und einfach ein piece of art. Das Denim ist von höchster Qualität und fühlt sich auch so an. Bei der Passform sollte man beachten, ob man sie „richtig“ waschen möchte. Wenn ja, mindestens eine Nummer großer kaufen. Sie ist den Preis wert!

Wanted to give a good review for this so here it goes. I am 6’ ~195lbs, 46” chest. After reading other reviews and some help from an online chat - thank you online team!- i ordered the XL and am glad I did. First off, i love the boxier, blouson style cut of this jacket. I was worried about it accentuating my bulkier frame but its very flattering - pleats are your friend! Unwashed, the fit was darn near perfect. After a cold wash and extra rinse, i did notice a minute amount of shrinking - mainly the sleeves and length but it was as expected since I sized up so it worked as good as i hoped. It feels even more tailored after wearing it wet and giving it a gentle stretch to get some perceived length back. The fabric has substance, a nice slubby quality, and the stitching and finish feel worth the premium. I looked at a number of other japanese repro brands but why not get the real thing?
