I bought this plaid flannel shirt in size S from the Levi’s website after reading that it runs large. For reference, I’m 5′10″ (178 cm) tall and weigh about 150 lbs (68 kg). Size S fits me very well, with a neat shape and enough room for layering. I wear it untucked. The fabric is what I like most. It feels substantial, yet noticeably softer and gentler against the skin than other flannel shirts I’ve owned. The texture gives it a particularly warm, cozy feel. That softness remained after washing—the fabric still feels just as pleasant to the touch and comfortable to wear. The cut feels more like a lightweight jacket. Even with the top button fastened, there is plenty of room around the neck and chest. It comfortably accommodates a T-shirt, long-sleeve top, or sweatshirt underneath, which makes it especially useful in cooler weather. The color combination is beautiful. One thing to keep in mind is that the brown elements of the plaid stand out against the light background, giving the shirt an overall warm brown appearance in person. This is worth considering when choosing colors that suit your complexion and complement your wardrobe. I particularly enjoy wearing it with Levi’s 568 jeans and carpenter pants. It works well in comfortable everyday outfits. The only things I’m still getting used to are the jacket-like cut and the fairly thick, substantial collar. I’m not sure whether the collar’s thickness comes from its construction or the fabric itself. It feels warm, and I expect it will help keep my neck comfortable during the colder months. For now, I’m giving it four stars while I get used to these details. Otherwise, I’m very happy with my purchase. Thank you, Levi’s, for the quality, the great fit, and especially the lovely fabric. With more wear, my rating may well become five stars.
