Fabric feels different than the black

I bought a pair of 711s in black November 2019. Since I practically live in them, I decided to try them the same size in the 'To the Nine' wash November 2020. However, they felt smaller and the fabric felt tighter and more stretchy compared to the black pair I own. Since I was looking for pants with more of a 'true' denim feel, I returned them.

More like leggings than jeans

I don't know what these are made of but they are so stretchy they don't feel like denim at all. They fit ok, size 14, but the fabric is just so weird and elastic that they are like athletic leggings but not comfortable. I've had Jean's with a bit of stretch but this is ridiculous. I like my jeans to have a bit of compression but these just let everything hang out. I can't recommend them.
