About this Style
Rarely does a garment symbolize the American workforce like our Levi’s® 1936 Type I Jacket. Made from rigid selvedge denim, it was considered the unofficial uniform of the American working man. True to the original, this jacket features defining details, like the double pleated front, single chest pocket, exposed copper rivets and copper-pronged cinch back for an adjustable fit. 1936 also marks the first year the Big "E" Red Tab™ was added to Levi's® products.

1930s Time Traveler's Jacket

This is a great reproduction that perfectly compliments my 1933 501s. The denim weight is lighter than a modern jacket, with a bit of nep. The Japanese construction is perfect as expected, not a thread out of place. I bought my usual Type III size and this Type I is much looser in its pre-shrunk state, so I think it will fit perfectly when shrunk. It is not as loose as the current Levi's Premium Type I jackets which are a more relaxed fit. If you want to time travel back to the 1930s, this is the jacket to do it in.

I purchased this item on sale for Black Friday. Levi cancelled the order a week later. Then, they have the gall to ask me how I liked the product. Would have loved this jacket. Just disappointed.
