A manufacturing equipment issue 2 pairs of 501's?

This may be of interest: I just wrote a review of the "Rough" 501's that I have. But looking at the second pair that I bought at the same time I see the same issue occurring in the same position, a tear next to the base of the fly. I like the "rough" version of these jeans better but now I see the same issue occurring in the same place on the second pair. I have been a regular wearer of Lucky Brand jeans, but a while back I decided to try Levi's again. I bought two pairs and wear jeans 3-4 x per month, washing them typically monthly. I wear the Rough version more often as I like the color and softness better. But, the hole in the crotch with the Rough version has become an issue, it is too large and visible even with the black underwear that I always wear. Now I see that the other pair has the same small tear that the Rough ones had. As for recommending to a friend...that is questionable. I have many jeans that are years old and I have not experienced the same issue with the Lucky Brand versions.
