I'm an aspiring raw denimhead, and i love a pair of 501s. I originally ordered a 28, which fit but was snug, and i read up on the shrink to fit and decided to go with a 29. They were roomy in the waist out of the package but i cold soaked mine for about 30 minutes, then hung them to dry. I could shrink mine a bit more but am going to wear them. They fit much better!

These jeans are beautiful, the selvedged detail is so cool - love the turn ups, such a timeless style with the raw denim feel. The denim is very stiff, but slso seems like they will last for years to come. Highly recommend.

I ordered a size down based on reviews, and they were still overall too large. I could shrink to fit, but because of the way I'm shaped, there was a tiny bit of extra room at the front waist, and an absolute ton at the back waist. I don't think it would have worked out, so I returned. Overall, the quality was great, they just didn't work for my shape.

I normally wear size 27, but I ordered the size 28 because I wanted a relaxed fit. They were way too big before the first wash. After washing them in the machine with warm delicate cycle and air dry, the length shrunk about 2 inches, but the fit was still too loose. I put them in the dryer with medium heat for about 30 minutes after the second wash (quick warm regular cycle). Everywhere else but the length shrunk this time. I think I achieve the fit that I wanted. Based on my experience, they will come very big, but if you wash them, they will shrink to the size that is indicated eventually. I love the dark color. Although it was a little tricky, I am happy with my purchase.
