Rated First impression it seem like it's like a pair of tapered jeans I own before. But when I literally got my hands on them, I was amazed on how it felt. The quality on the denim felt different, it was amazing it was fairly heavy compared to the other taper jeans I own. And what made me very excited was looking at that red and white stitching when I rolled up the cuffs. I've done my research numerous times on what the hype was about selvage denim. Now having my very first pair, I can really understand why it's worth every penny.
The sizing does run a half size big, so if you really want something that is fairly tight to your hips gets one size smaller. If you want to stick with your true size and you don't mind a slight gap around your waist, just stick with what you normally wear.
If you're new to this selvage denim world just like I am and you love Levi's like I do. This is all you right here. Especially for those that love tapered denciate that Levi's is offering premium selvedge denim in several of their products, but the fit on the pair I received was just strange. I am a measured 32.5" waist and so I ordered a tagged 31. The jeans were much too large around my waist, which surprised me compared to how other Levi's jeans have fit in the past. I would definitely advise knowing your correct size in this fit before ordering online.
That said, if they had fit I would have been very happy with the quality and style of the jeans. They are a slim cut with a fairly high rise, which unfortunately is pretty hard to find in selvedge at a reasonable price. The dark wash and slim fit would make them a good choice for less casual affairs. Just make sure you get the sizing right.
