Overall these jeans are great. Be aware they arrive very stiff and longer than the 32 length they say. After one wash they were wearable and shortened up bit then after a few wears to break them in they are true to size and comfortable. Definitely no modern stretch fit here, these are thick winter with these. Levi's has made another solid pair of jeans.
These are only a little snug in the waist, but a little more so in the thighs, and I'm a pretty slim guy. Since they're a much more rigid material than usual, I suspect they'll loosen up.
But, I do like to cuff my jeans, so it's disappointing that I ordered a 32L and find them to be shorter than my other Levi's at that length. 34L would be too long.
Takeaway: Definitely consider a longer than usual length, but if you can stand wearing them a while without washing, then go for your normal waist size. Wash these cold and hang dry to ensure they don't shrink.
And to Levi's, please don't stop making these. I will buy more.

These jeans are beautiful! For me, the 513 fit is the most perfect fit; slim but not skinny. The color is great, a true dark blue jean, and the fit feels as if they were custom tailored for me. They were a bit stiff when brand new, but I washed them once befor17').style.display = 'none';
