Introducing
THE MAKERS SHOP
Where workwear meets streetwear. Utility meets creativity. And all are welcome. Here’s how to wear some of our favorite artisan-inspired styles of the season.
The world is full of makers. But they don’t all have calloused hands or a lumberjack beard. Anyone in the business (or pleasure!) of creating is a maker—and welcome in The Makers Shop, where workwear meets streetwear.
“In response to the chaos of the last year, we’re seeing a renewed interest in individualism, a return to hobbyism, and a love of craft and optimism,” says Janine Chilton-Faust, VP of Levi’s® Men’s Design. “We liked The Makers Shop concept because it’s kind of a catchall for all different types of utility detailing.”
Inspired by DIYers, mechanics and carpenters, these styles capture that authentic artisan feel, but are made for easy wearing on days when manual labor isn’t necessarily on the agenda.
“I think the fabrications are really key,” Janine says. “Denim, herringbone, canvas—they’re lighter weight, so they’re more comfortable. And then we have some great garment dyes that make up this cool, more mature color palette.”
The end result? A range of fits that live in that perfect intersection of functionality, comfort and effortless cool. Thanks for dropping by! Now, let us show you around The Shop...
HOLD EVERYTHING
Is there such a thing as too many pockets? Probably. But this Trucker Jacket and Chore Pant combo has just the right amount. Loose and laid-back, but still put-together—it’s like if bacon-wrapped shrimp were an outfit. And the ridged texture gives it that little something-something without being an overstatement. Top it off with a bucket hat, which is basically just a pocket for your head, right? To keep all those good ideas securely in place.
WHEN YOU JUST CAN’T, COVERALL
You know those mornings when the process of matching a shirt and a pair of pants is just too much to ask? Allow us to introduce you to the one-and-done wonder that is the coverall. You can even fit an undershirt and a hoodie under there when it’s breezy out. This piece is made with plenty of room to chill, stretch, trek through fields, what-have-you.
