Modern Streetwear Inspired by ‘80s Sportswear

February 11, 2018

Levi’s® connection to sportswear is almost as old as the company itself. We fielded (and clothed) the Levi Strauss & Co. Base Ball Club as early as 1886. We even outfitted the Mexican national futbol team for their 1978 World Cup run. The sportswear logo as it’s known today was developed for the 1984 L.A. Olympics when Levi’s® was the official outfitter of the U.S. team.

We revived our Levi’s® sportswear logo this season, taking inspiration from ‘90s fashion and current streetwear trends where the retro look of big blocky logos is in. It’s executed across the line in big bold graphic prints as well as subtle embroidery.
