True denimheads know what’s up, but if you don’t: Japanese denim dates back to when Americans sent old shuttle looms to Japan during the WWII era. Japanese craftspeople largely operated these looms by hand rather than automation, giving the fabric that much sought-after varied texture. This inimitable process and the incredibly rare machines are still used in Japan to this day. And the garments resulting from these techniques are, quite simply, the best of the best.

We continued our long-standing tradition of working with the world-renowned Kaihara Denim Mills. Crafted using those prized vintage shuttle looms, their selvedge denim is highly coveted the world over.
For Spring/Summer 2022, we present to you some of our most beloved silhouettes, constructed from selvedge denim in a range of colorways. Each garment is marked with a red metallic sun inspired by the Hinomaru, the Japanese flag.
