A History of Hardworking Style

Levi’s® Workwear Fall 2018

August 31, 2018

We’ve been at the center of workwear since we patented the first blue jean in 1873 — made of long-lasting denim reinforced with copper rivets to prevent wear and destruction. Originally making goods for miners and ranchers, we paved the way for a new generation of workers in post-Gold Rush California — giving them reliable clothing built to endure.

Quality and durability are parts of our DNA, dating back to some of our earliest designs and staying true to our original 2-Horse pull patch that bears the words: “it’s no use — they can’t be ripped!” This true testament to the strength and durability of our jeans continues today with our Workwear collection. Built with the same principles we’ve applied to our clothing for more than a century, it’s the modern uniform of today’s workers.

To create this collection for the modern worker, we took a few of our bestsellers — such as the 505 Regular Fit and 545 Athletic Fit — and added utility details to make them even tougher. Each pair of jeans features details like reinforced seams for extra strength, slightly wider leg openings (to fit over boots), deep pockets for better storage, abrasion-resistant fabric and stretch for all-day comfort. Every piece in the collection is designed to withstand heavy use.

Check out our latest Workwear styles, and stay tuned for more as we continue to expand the collection.
