Over 140 years ago, Levi Strauss invented a simple blue jean that forever changed the way the world dressed. Levi’s® Made & Crafted® builds on this legacy by designing tomorrow’s classics using today’s best materials and construction techniques.
Our Fall / Winter 2019 collection was partly inspired by Moscow’s eclectic mix of blocky Soviet-era buildings and centuries-old architecture. And partly by a more surprising influence — a large presence of Western wear.
Luxurious and detailed. This season, Levi’s® Made & Crafted® combines the beauty and opulence of Russian architecture and clothing with the tradition and heritage of the American West. The result is a collection full of sherpa accents, intricate embroidery, fringe detailing and eye-catching Old West-style patterns.
Pulling inspiration from a mix of Soviet-era styling, this new collection draws on sporty silhouettes and 1990s tracksuit-esque color blocking while our iconic denim takes on new proportions — both shrunken and oversized. Color-wise, the collection is grounded in shades of white, black, and indigo with occasional pops of red.
“It was actually very easy and natural to combine the two,” says Nicolle Arbour, Global Design Director for Collections at Levi’s®. “Western is just something we do every day. And then we got really excited after traveling through Russia. Everything there is gigantic and over the top.”
Soft textures are mixed with Western yokes, channeling both Russian street style and traditional cowboy flare. Our newest arrivals for men feature contrasting colors, playful stitch work, all-over laser patterns created with Levi’s® Future Finish and quilted construction.
From lasso embroidery on a red Russian-style robe to faux fur on a denim Trucker Jacket, our new arrivals for women prove just how beautifully Eastern European richness and Western heritage can blend.
