KARLA WELCH: I’m Karla Welch. I feel like I’ve had many lives and many careers. I’m 46. I hope to have a few more acts left in the film of my life. All informed who I am, what I bring to every job I do. It’s a thread of the timeline of my life and they’re all skills whether it was like when I had a paper route, or I worked at a gas station, or at my dad’s store, or then in the restaurant, it’s all informed all the skills I have today. So I always like to say to people like it’s okay to do a bunch of different things, it’s okay and it’s great to occupy all these lanes, just learn all you can and apply it to the next thing. And so here now that I have The Period Company, which I just launched, and you know I truly feel though I’ve stepped into my great purpose. Word just on the act of flowing of having the most sustainable option. Our major goal is to rid the industry of single-serving disposable plastic and non-renewable options. Everything really drives omission of is it good for the earth and is it good for the user. I realized my period didn’t do good for the earth, and it’s one of the most natural things we could ever, it’s one of the most natural things we were created to do. And so if we flow and you flow into your underwear, you’re helping yourself and you’re helping the planet. So you know, really small task at hand.
