With a classic straight leg and iconic styling, they’re literally the blueprint for every pair of jeans in existence — burned into the world’s collective cortex ever since Levi Strauss (the man himself!) invented them in 1873. To this day they’ve never gone out of style. And they never will.
Roll back the cuff of this pair of jeans. See that woven strip—like stripes? That’s selvedge, or “self-edge.” It tells you that this pair of jeans was woven on a traditional narrow-width shuttle loom (instead of a giant industrial one), which results in a dense stitch, a finished outseam. and subtle natural variations in the fabric, making these jeans highly covetable.
