Hij zegt ook dat je altijd nog een extra ring of accessoire moet pakken voordat je de deur uit gaat. En dat het leven te kort is om niet te dragen wat je wilt. Hij is, zoals hij zelf zegt, ‘net een beetje meer’. Maar weinig mensen zien er beter uit in het blauw dan de Levi's®-senior verkoper. Gelukkig maar, want hij houdt echt héél veel van blauw. Dit is, volgens Austin, wat hij draagt.* Ik ben op een bepaalde manier altijd al een ‘maximalist’ geweest. Ken je dat beroemde gezegde: ‘trek altijd één ding uit voor je het huis uitloopt’? Ik probeer juist altijd iets toe te voegen. Ik ben momenteel in mijn tweede evolutie. Maar ik ben er nog niet met mijn uiteindelijke stijl. Ik denk dat ik nu niet veel kleding meer nodig heb en ben nu erg kieskeurig over wat ik koop. Maar wanneer ik iets zoek om aan te trekken, is het hoe gekker hoe beter. Hoe glanzender en kleurrijker hoe beter. Zeker in het blauw. Blauw is zo’n archetypische kleur. Iedereen ziet er goed uit in het blauw en elke blauwtint kan gecombineerd worden. Blauw heeft een oneindige dimensie. Ik zou mijn huid blauw verven als dat kon.   Mijn stijl zou ik beschrijven als … jeetje, denim-indigo-fantasie? Ik denk dat mijn stijl typisch voor San Francisco is. Ik ben soms een beetje ‘gender-bendy’. Wanneer ik niet weet wat ik aan moet trekken, kies ik altijd voor díe jeans. Mijn back-up is altijd de 511™ rigids. Die heb ik momenteel misschien wel het meeste aan, want ik probeer hem in te lopen en een vaste fade te krijgen.  Ik heb de rigids nu acht maanden. Ik hem het nog niet gewassen. Ik ben erg kieskeurig over hoe en wanneer ik mijn rigids voor het eerst was. Wanneer ik hem eindelijk was, ren ik er mee de oceaan in. Het is magisch, spiritueel en pragmatisch. Door het zout en zand wordt het denim meer verwassen dan in zoetwater. Zo ben ik dus. Ik ben net een beetje meer, voor het geval je dat nog niet door had.
