raakt®. Als je er dus al eens over dacht om een oude jeans een doe-het-zelf make-over te geven, waarom probeer je dan eens niet ze een versleten look te geven? Versleten denim is een tijdloze trend en staat iedereen schitterend. Een prima manier dus om een outfit een update te geven. Bewust kopen is belangrijk. In plaats van een nagelnieuwe versleten jeans te kopen, lijkt het ons een veel beter idee om zelf een broek die je al hebt een persoonlijke toets te geven. Bovendien heb je deze jeans al een tijd in je kast hangen, en hoef je ze dus niet meer in te dragen. Als een oude jeans niet meer past, kan je ook altijd eens proberen de taille in te nemen in plaats van je broek buiten te gooien . Onze kleermakers in de winkel helpen je graag met het aanpassen van je jeans, maar als je zin hebt in een leuk doe-het-zelfprojectje, vind je hier een paar tips van onze kleermakers om zelf thuis te proberen je jeans te personaliseren. ### Wat zijn versleten jeans? Versleten jeans zijn jeans die behandeld zijn om ze een meer vintage geïnspireerde look te geven. Mettertijd kunnen jeans die regelmatig gedragen worden natuurlijk verslijten, of je kunt jeans kopen die tijdens het productieproces versleten zijn. Een andere optie is om deze look zelf te creëren met onze doe-het-zelftips. Versleten denim heeft een rafelig en oud uitzicht, en de witte draadjes van de jeans zullen waarschijnlijk zichtbaar zijn. Je kunt je denim verslijten volgens je persoonlijke voorkeur, door te kiezen hoe groot je de rafels in je jeans wilt maken, en hoeveel je er wilt creëren.  ### Wat is het verschil tussen een gescheurde en een versleten jeans? Hoewel ze er misschien vergelijkbaar uitzien, zit het grote verschil tussen gescheurde en versleten jeans in de gaten zelf. Zowel het gescheurde als versleten effect wordt verkregen door de stof van de jeans te scheuren, maar het verschil is dat gescheurde jeans duidelijke gaten vertonen, terwijl versleten jeans op die plekken gerafelde en wat kapotgedragen stof hebben.  ## Zijn versleten jeans in de mode ? Versleten jeans met loose pasvorm zijn tegenwoordig een kenmerkend stuk in vele garderobes, en modeinfluencers en bekendheden nemen het voortouw in deze trend. Als ze goed is uitgevoerd, is dit soort jeans tijdloos, en zo kan je een nieuw leven geven aan denim dat je nu misschien eerder in de kast laat hangen. Aangezien versleten jeans momenteel in de mode zijn, is dit een prima moment om je uit te leven met je eigen doe-het-zelfproject om jeans te verslijten. Bovendien heb je met zo’n versleten jeans de kans iedereen te tonen wie je bent. Het is een echt staaltje teamwerk, begonnen door ons en vervolledigd door jou.  ## Hoe verslijt ik jeans Hoewel onze kleermakers altijd in onze winkels klaar staan om je te helpen herstellen, reconstrueren en recycleren, hoef je geen volleerde naaister zijn om je eigen jeans te verslijten. Het is eenvoudiger dan je misschien denkt om zelf dat versleten effect te verkrijgen. Er zijn twee gemakkelijke manieren om het klusje te klaren: de methode met schuurpapier, of de methode met schaar en pincet. Schuurpapier gebruiken om jeans te verslijten zorgt voor een meer rafelige, vintage look, terwijl het met de schaar en pincet wat onhandiger werken is, maar je hebt zo wel meer controle over het eindresultaat.  ## De methode met schaar en pincet __Dit heb je nodig__ - Jeans - Krijt - Schaar - Pincet ### Stap één: markeren Het eerste wat je moet doen is de plekken kiezen waar je de stof wilt verslijten en onder elkaar drie of vier rechte horizontale lijnen trekken, een paar centimeter uit elkaar, met je markeerkrijt. Dat geeft je een goed idee van welke plekken je gaat bewerken eens je aan de slag gaat. De lijnen kunnen zo kort of lang zijn als je zelf wilt, afhankelijk van hoe versleten je wilt dat je jeans er gaat uitzien. Je kiest er misschien voor om je jeans alleen rond de knieën te verslijten, bij de enkels, of bovenaan in de buurt van de zakken. Je jeans aantrekken terwijl je de lijnen markeert kan helpen om te zien waar die precies zullen komen.  ### Stap twee: plooien en knippen Als je eenmaal duidelijk voor ogen hebt welke plekken je wilt verslijten, is het moment gekomen om te knippen. Om dat zo eenvoudig mogelijk te maken, kan je een plooi maken in de pijp van je jeans die precies door het midden van de lijnen loopt die je hebt getekend (misschien moet je voor elke lijn op een andere plek plooien). Daarna knip je recht in elke lijn.  ## Stap drie: tijd om te verslijten Je zou nu eenvoudige, schone scheuren moeten hebben in je jeans. Om de versleten look te krijgen, begin je nu met je pincet aan de blauwe draadjes te trekken die op de plek van elke scheur uit de stof naar beneden hangen. Als je je jeans wilt verslijten, is het de bedoeling dat je die blauwe draadjes wegplukt en alleen de witte overhoudt. Houd voor ogen dat alle blauwe draadjes verticaal naar beneden lopen in de broek, en de witte horizontaal lopen —trek dus naar beneden toe, niet schuin. Ga verder tot je alle blauwe draadjes hebt weggetrokken uit elk van de scheuren, en probeer daarbij geen witte draadjes te verwijderen, want dan krijg je een gat in de stof!  ## De methode van het schuurpapier Dit heb je nodig - Jeans - Schuurpapier ## Stap één: kies de plekken die je wilt verslijten Verslijt je jeans eenvoudig met schuurpapier. Net zoals bij de eerste methode moet je in de eerste plaats kiezen welke plakken je wilt verslijten,- maar aangezien deze methode niet zo nauwkeurig is, hoef je geen strepen te trekken met krijt. ## Stap twee: wrijven Begin met het schuurpapier over en weer te wrijven over de zones van je jeans die je wilt verslijten. Probeer je schuurpapier op dezelfde plek te houden zodat je geen schade toebrengt aan de draadjes op andere plekken die je intact wilt houden. Zorg ervoor dat je de blauwe draadjes naarmate ze loskomen opzij veegt, zodat je goed kunt zien hoe ver je al gevorderd bent. Vergeet niet dat het de bedoeling is dat de witte draadjes zichtbaar zijn, die moeten dus blijven zitten! Je kunt gemakkelijk heel erg opgaan in het wrijven met het schuurpapier, zorg er dus voor dat je op tijd stopt en om de paar seconden kijkt hoe de situatie ervoor staat. ## Stap drie: was je jeans Hoewel we niet aanraden je jeans vaak te wassen, gewoon omdat dat niet nodig is, is het na het verslijten van je jeans wel zo dat het effect nogal “perfect” kan zijn tot na de eerste wasbeurt. Nadat je jeans uit de wasmachine komt, zie je waarschijnlijk de zachtere vintage look die je in gedachten had . Denk aan de planeet en was je jeans op lage temperatuur, of ga nog een stapje verder en was ze met koud water. Koud water helpt ook om de kleur te behouden, en bovendien spaar je energie en geld uit. Als je jeans eenmaal gewassen is, vermijd dan ze in de droger te stoppen en kies voor een milieuvriendelijke methode door ze op te hangen zodat ze op natuurlijke wijze kan drogen.
