Dieses Mal widmet er sich der Geschichte und den Traditionen der Gullah Geechee. ## „Emorys Arbeit fordert immer wieder die Grenzen des Status Quo heraus.“ ### AFRICAN AMERICAN CONCEPTUAL CONCEPTUALISM Für diese Kollektion hat Tremaine die Geschichte der Sklaverei in Amerika untersucht, indem er die DNA der Gullah Geechee rekontextualisiert hat. Als Einwanderer\*innen aus Afrika, versklavt auf Plantagen der südlichen Atlantikküste, waren die Gullah Geechee gezwungen, Indigo zu färben. Diese achtteilige Kollektion verwendet Farbcodes und visuelle Symbole, Bilder und Designs, um die Verbindung von Mode und der Geschichte der African American Diaspora zu zeigen.  ### INDIGO HANDS Der All-Over-Druck blauer Hände auf der weißen Levi's® 501® Jeans, der weißen Levi's® Type II Trucker Jacket und einem weißen Plantation Hat ist ein kulturelles Symbol für die Kämpfe und Qualen der versklavten Gullahs. Emory schafft damit eine visuelle Blaupause, die die unermüdliche Arbeit der Gullah Geechee symbolisiert, deren Hände sich während des permanenten Indigo-Färbeprozesses blau färbten.  ## „Diese Kollektion zeigt eine eindrucksvolle Perspektive, in der Charakter, Look und jedes Setting eine autonome Analyse der Vergangenheit, der Gegenwart und der Zukunft Amerikas bedeutet.“ –TREMAINE EMORY ### AFRICAN AMERICAN DIASPORA Emory erzählt die Geschichte der Gullah Geechee und der African American Diaspora, indem er farbcodierte Quilts und Muster auf der Levi's® 501 Jeans, dem Levi's® Western Shirt, dem Levi's® Shirt Jacket, einer Canvas Tote und seinem Markenzeichen, dem Plantation Hat, verwendet.
