2021 Share  De nieuwe collectie van Levi's® Vintage Clothing, Project Survival, is een eerbetoon aan de studentenactivisten die een revolutie in gang zetten die uitmondde in de eerste wereldwijde dag van de Aarde in 1970. We nemen een kijkje achter de ontwerpen met Paul O’Neill, Design Director van Levi's® Vintage Clothing. ### DE INSPIRATIE “We wilden een van de eerste bewegingen voor milieurechtvaardigheid herdenken. Op alle universiteitscampussen doken in de jaren 60 groepen op die een lans braken voor een gezonde omgang met het milieu. Die jonge studenten die zo bezorgd waren en een verandering nastreefden waren een echte inspiratiebron. 50 jaar later doen we nog steeds hetzelfde: vechten voor onze planeet en mensen doen luisteren.Het eerste dat we deden nadat we foto’s bestudeerden van wat die jongeren droegen, was in de Levi's-archieven duiken, waar we duizenden originele kledingstukken bewaren. Ze begonnen zich anders te kleden dan hun ouders. Je ziet dat die universiteitsstudenten zich veel minder opkleedden, met T-shirts en afgedragen jeans en sportswear. Een soort van nonchalante look die er op natuurlijke wijze kwam. Het was de eerste keer dat Levi's® meer op de jeugd begon te focussen. White Tab™ was gericht op een universiteitsstijl – een soort van Ivy Leage-look met slimme, rechte silhouetten. Midden jaren 60 zien we voor het eerst skinny jeans, die we voor deze collectie reproduceerden. In 1969 begon Levi's® met Orange Tab™, een denimcollectie met een modefocus en een soort van California hippiecool, met dingen als wijde pijpen.
