Started by us Finished by you
In 1873, workers who had flocked to the West of American in search of fortune needed workwear that could endure, so Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis combined quality denim with rivet reinforcements, creating the first pair of blue jeans: Levi’s® 501® Original.

The Evolution of an Iconic Brand
We took the iconic original and customised it with a perfectly tapered leg.
Faithfully capturing the spirit and heritage of American workwear, Levi’s® Vintage Clothing meticulously reproduces our most historic 501® Jeans from the past 140 years. The fabric, fit and even the packaging are the same as the iconic originals.
High whiskering is characteristic of the wear and tear of jeans worn by miners. Jeans were often handed on, so wear shows up in inconsistent places.
The waist cincher on the back was an original feature dating back to the 1870s. It was removed due to rationing after WWII and never returned.
Influenced by the hugely popular Western films of the time, the ‘30s became the defining decade for 501®’s as a style icon.
For the first time, Levi’s® jackets and jeans gained international recognition and popularity, as they became the uniform of off-duty U.S. servicemen stationed overseas.
The 501® secured its rebel status in the 50s, when it was banned by schools across America, but embraced by subcultures, both on and off screen.
As the social revolution continued to dominate in the ‘60s, jeans were adopted by those who campaigned for peace, redefined gender roles and fought for social progress.
